This Privacy Policy explains our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service Platform. By using our Service Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
This policy specifically applies to:
Service Seekers: individuals who book or use shared rides via the Safari Yatri App.
Service Providers (Driver-Partners): individuals who provide ride services via the Safari Yatri App.
Safari Yatri Pvt. Ltd. ("Safari Yatri," "we," "us," or "our") is a technology platform registered in Nepal (Itahari, Koshi Province) that connects passengers and independent driver-partners for shared rides. We do not operate vehicles ourselves; instead, we facilitate ride bookings, routing, and OTP confirmations.
We collect several types of information to provide and improve our Service Platform.
Full name - To identify you and personalize your experience within the app
Phone number (OTP-verified) - To create and secure your account, enable communication between ride partners, and verify transactions
Email (Optional) - To send important service updates, receipts, and notifications (if provided)
Address - To identify the city or place the user is from
Vehicle Number - To identify your vehicle and ensure it matches our records for passenger safety.
Vehicle type (e-rickshaw) - To properly categorize your vehicle and match it with appropriate ride requests.
Owner's name & contact - For verification purposes and emergency contact if needed.
Rider License (Optional but Recommended) - A field is available in the app to upload your rider license. Uploading this document is optional, but recommended to support and speed up your driver registration and verification process. Licensing requirements may vary by local authority.
Other Supporting Documents (Optional) - The app provides an option to upload additional supporting documents to strengthen your driver profile and verification. These documents are not mandatory, but may help during onboarding, verification, or audits.
Examples of supporting documents include:
• Local Municipality or Ward Registration Letter
• E-Rickshaw Association Membership Card
• Temporary Route or Operation Permit (if issued)
• Vehicle Ownership Proof or Purchase Receipt
• Citizenship Card (front side only, if voluntarily provided)
Usage Data: GPS location while the app is active in the foreground (passengers and drivers); ride details (pickup/drop-off locations, service times, distance, fare amount).
The app may send push notifications for ride updates, and service announcements. Notifications are delivered through third-party services (Firebase Cloud Messaging). We do not collect any personal information for delivering notifications. Users may disable notifications through their device settings.
We use crash-reporting tools (such as Firebase Crashlytics) to diagnose app crashes and improve performance. These tools may automatically collect non-personal technical data such as:
device model
operating system version
app version
crash logs
No personal data (name, phone number, email, address, etc.) is collected through crash analytics.
The app uses analytics tools (Firebase Analytics) to measure basic app performance and usage trends. Analytics may record anonymous data such as:
number of app opens
screens visited
app features used
device type
This data helps improve app performance and user experience.
We collect personal information only as necessary to provide and improve the Safari Yatri Service Platform and do not collect unnecessary or excessive personal data.
Safari Yatri uses collected data to:
Create, verify, and manage your account
Match passengers with available driver-partners
Provide navigation and routing through Galli Maps
Generate and validate OTPs to confirm ride completion
Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity
Respond to support requests and investigate incidents
Monitor app usage and improve the Service Platform
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
Verify driver identity, vehicle eligibility, and supporting documents submitted during driver onboarding or verification
We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
Between Ride-Partners:
Drivers receive passenger name, phone number, optionally profile photo, pickup/drop-off locations; passengers receive driver name, vehicle details, phone number, optionally profile photo, pickup/drop-off locations.
Driver documents, including licenses and supporting documents, are used strictly for internal verification purposes and are not shared with passengers or third parties, except when required by law.
Third-Party Service Providers: Galli Maps for app functionality.
Legal Requirements: Only when required by law (e.g., accidents, investigations, or court orders).
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers or servers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside Nepal and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to Nepal and process it there.
By using the Safari Yatri Service Platform and submitting your information, you consent to this transfer. Safari Yatri will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. No transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless adequate safeguards are in place to protect your data.
Safari Yatri may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Protect and defend the rights or property of Safari Yatri
Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service Platform
Protect the personal safety of users of the Service Platform or the public

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service Platform ("Third-Party Service Providers") or to provide the Service Platform on our behalf.
These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

We use Firebase services strictly for essential app functionality and performance, including:
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): to deliver ride updates and service notifications
Firebase Analytics: to understand basic, anonymized app usage trends and improve user experience
Firebase Crashlytics: to detect crashes and technical issues and improve app stability
Firebase services may collect non-personal, technical, and anonymized data such as device type, app version, and usage patterns. Safari Yatri does not use Firebase or any third-party service for advertising, profiling, or selling user data.
We do not allow third-party service providers to use collected data for their own purposes.
Our Service Platform is designed to provide ride-booking functionality using Safari Yatri and does not contain links to any other websites.
If you encounter any third-party links within the app, please note that Safari Yatri does not control these sites and is not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or services.
We encourage users to review the privacy policies of any other websites they visit independently.
We retain data for specific periods based on usage and legal requirements:
Active Users: Data retained while your account remains active
Deleted or Suspended Accounts: Retained for 30 days for fraud prevention, then permanently deleted unless legally required
Ride Records: Retained for at least five years per Nepali regulations
Driver Documents: Deleted within 30 days of deactivation unless legally required
You have control over your personal data:
Access & Correction: View or update your profile anytime via the App or website
Go to Settings → Delete Account (individual can request deletion)
Visit https://safariyatri.com.np/Home/DeleteAccount (Admin can remove account upon user request)
Processing: Deletion requests will be processed within 30 working days, except for data legally required to retain
Safari Yatri is intended primarily for users aged 18 or older. Passengers under the age of 18 may use the Service Platform only under the supervision and responsibility of a parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from minors. Any account found to be independently operated by a minor without parental supervision may be suspended or deleted.
Driver-Partners must be at least 18 years old.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect changes. Updated versions will be posted on our website and within the App. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Legal Jurisdiction: This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Nepal. Any disputes arising hereunder will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nepalese courts.
